Vegan Yogurt Experiment

Have you ever made a food that you really liked but could not reproduce it? When my husband and I first began our raw vegan journey, I had a recipe to make raw cashew yogurt. Two moves later I cannot find the recipe. Today I decided to try to make it. I have two exerimental elements. I am not using a probiotic tablet. I am using a SCOBY and a little kombucha that dripped off the SCOBY. One more thing I’m doing different.  Rather than letting the mixture sit in a warm place on the counter, I’m putting the mixture in my dehydrater.

I’ve missed having yogurt.  I’ll let you know how it worked out.

I remembered that I posted the first attempt and I found my post. It turns out I also didn’t use cashews before. I used coconut meat. This is truly a new experiment.

Nama J2 Strikes Again

A few days ago I was trying a recipe that called for cashew butter. I didn’t have any so I decided to make my own. I put a little less of a cup in my grinder. The grinder overheated. The result was chopped cashews. It was enough to put in the Vitamix or food processor and too much for my mortar and pestle; at least more than I wanted to stand there and grind. So I put it in the fridge until I decided what to do.

Today I made cashew milk in my J2. As I watched it process I thought about what I would do with the pulp. I picked a piece up and the light went on.💡⚡️⚡️💡

Cashew Butter!

I mashed up the pulp, added a little milk and whipped out the immersion blender. Here is the result.

I could have made it smoother but I like a little chunky. If I make a larger quantity, I’ll use the Vitamix.

Thank you, J2.

Just a little Wisdom

Where there is no WISE guidance, the nation Falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory. Proverbs 11:14

Most certainly, the evil man will NOT be unpunished, the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.  Proverbs 11:21
