Watch “The Sandbox was Before That” on YouTube

Still feeling the results if the conference. My soil has been greatly enriched by this experience. In addition I developed new relationships and made others stronger.

TODAY, the Best Day❣

Today is workday. I am finally organizing my office/sewing center/guess room. I am setting up to continue my self-care. I’ll explain in my next post. My soil is blacker now. So many nutrients were added to it these last two weeks.

TODAY is the BEST day of my life🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

God is leaning in my direction❣

Private Summers

It is hot here in Texas but it is what you would expect this time of year. Each day we check the temperature and we get two numbers: one is the actual temperature and the other is the “feels like” temperature. But there is a third temperature. It is felt by those who experience “private summers”, most commonly known as hot flashes.

I can only share what I’ve been told because I was blessed to only experience them for a couple of days and then they were very mild. So mild that I only realized what was happening when I had a crying, sobbing breakdown in the middle of a meeting at First 5 Riverside with about 20 other women. Fortunately that lasted only a day.

But back to private summers. Some women turn to pharmaceuticals, others just suffer through it but there is another choice. A natural, non-toxic relief is available. Young Living has several products that offer relief. I asked for referrals from the users and the results are

  1. Progessence Plus blend- serum- blend of bergamot, peppermint, Frankincense enhance progesterone skin penetration. Natural progesterone may help with several things including menapause symptoms.
  2. Sclaressence blend-supports the hormones
  3. Femigen – helps balance hormones- supplement capsules
  4. Clary Sage – affects hormonal system -single oil

There are several others but these were the ones championed the most, listed in the order of highest frequency.

Air conditioning and plenty of water can help the Texas heat and I offer potential relief from those “private summers.”

Not My Job

1 Corinthians 5:12-13 (ESV)
12  For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?
13  God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”

It seems we do the opposite. We spend so much time condemning people who don’t believe what we believe. We spend so little time calling out the wrong done by those inside the church. We excuse or justify. I guess we are afraid our mess will be exposed.

Well, I have just set you free from what is not your job. God will judge those on the outside of our beliefs if they are to be judged at all. We should focus on “in the house.”

If we do this we will become a light on a hill, instead of the oppressors of God’s greatest creation, mankind.

Looking in Daniel’s Mirror

Every new year many churches participate in some version of Daniel’s fast. This year my church was no different but my fast was. I lead a plant-based dietary lifestyle so I had to sacrifice or do something different. I chose to fast from social media and devote that time to studying the man, Daniel. I thought there would be a long lists of lessons about his character but he was so consistent in his behavior that it is a short but powerful list.

Daniel reminded me what my God favors.

  1. Prayer
  2. Unwavering Commitment to God even into death
  3. Unquestioned loyalty to God and friends
  4. Humility
  5. Continual Prayer
  6. Confidence in God
  7. Care and concern for others
  8. PRAYER

God responded with favor, wisdom and power.

I, now, stand facing this mirror.

All In The Head

It’s been a little over a year since we began this raw vegan/vegan lifestyle change. I have learned how to prepare meals which is a real accomplishment; I never liked to cook. I am still learning because my husband’s cardiologist wants as much gluten-free, oil-free, clean food as possible. This is no easy task. Eating out is hard and cooking requires learning how to make good food with these substitutes. The journey has begun again.

I discovered one other thing, your mind is still the main battlefield. Occasionally my mind still test me when I am tired. Catfish and fried chicken, Chinese and authentic Mexican screams at me. The struggling vegan pops up and shouts substitute. That is my present objective; substitutes and the changing of my mind, again.

“…..but Be transformed by the renewing of your mind….” Romans 12:2

This is the key to all lifestyle changes. It all begins with how you think. When you determine to make the change and settle it in your mind the rest is easy.

3 Little Words

3 little words

Hold so much power.

We all desire to hear

3 little words

That can birth or destroy.

We use them so glibly.

Why are we so careless?

Disingenuous use hurt and anger us.

Why do we do it to others?

You say you mean them

But your actions portray something else.

Think

Are you there when needed

If only a smile

Or encouraging word?

Do you even know the depth they carry?

Think about them before you say

Those 3 little words.

I LOVE YOU!
